Day 3 was hard. 66.7 miles, including the notorious quadbuster, a 1.3 mile climb with an average grade of 10%, and some heavy wind along the flats. I think my body was feeling yesterday’s 109 miles, because today was hard going. But, it has also been the best day so far, because it had my MOM! It was so considerate of the ALC planners to map the route right past my mom and stepdad’s house – we get the special privilege of being pampered for two nights of the ride. If you plan to ride ALC, I highly recommend having your mom take care of you for nights three and four.
To everyone who has emailed, texted, called, Facebook messaged, and commented, thank you so much for all your support. I don’t have enough energy to respond directly, but we (Lee’s phone drowned in the rain yesterday so I’m transcribing messages for him) are so very grateful for each and every one of you.
Some snaps from today’s ride:

Yay!
way to go..
